For the past year and a half I have lived in a wonderful, two bedroom, one bathroom apartment with my husband. We now have a 3 1/2 month old living in the small space we call home. Toys liter the living room, bed rooms, kitchen, and even the bathroom on occasion. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining about the reason for the toys and clutter...just the fact that we don't honestly have anywhere else to put it. Steve and I would love to have one or two rooms to ourselves where we KNOW we wont break an ankle just walking into the room. Now, most of these toys are large and avoidable but not always the case when I'm carrying our son, Eli, and bouncing up and down and all around to keep him happy for 4 minutes. ;)
I am with Eli 24 hours, 7 days a week, 4 weeks a month, (you get the picture!) and I cherish every minute. I love my new roll as mommy and wouldn't change that for the world! I love watching him sore past each milestone that comes his way. Eli was rolling from his belly to his back by just 2 1/2 months!! This kid is AMAZING! BUT this is what brings me back to my original problem of lack of space. If he is rolling over at just 2 1/2 months, when will he be rolling the other way, crawling, or even walking?! I can't have a roaming baby in a tiny apartment. It is almost impossible to baby proof our apartment for lack of storage space for all of everyone's "things."
As I keep this blog I hope to share trials, joys, Eli's milestones, my accomplishments in the home (and out of the home if any occur!), and our journey to find our first house! I have never been a good cook and don't always have a passion to make our dinners every night. SO, I'll share fun/easy/healthy recipes that we enjoy and maybe even share eventful failed meals just for some comic relief.
Quick info about Steve:
Steve works full time at Gentex and is going to school part time for his Associates in Engineering. He already has his Bachelor in Business from GVSU and has used that to climb in his career thus far. He enjoys playing with Eli when he gets home from work, playing games with friends, and playing "geeky" games on x-box and his computer. (I only say geeky out of a secret jealousy that I'm SO not talented at those kinds of games!)
I hope you enjoy following me as I journey through this thing called "life!"
