Step 1: Pre-approval.

Since "step 1" is seeing what we would be approved for and what our credit score is, Steve made an appointment to figure both of those things out.

That appointment was today. Steve visited our Huntington Bank (which we love and are thankful for such caring and great service) to speak with the real estate and loan person.

We found out Steve's credit is not only good, but it is almost as good as it can possibly get! :D
Then we found out that if we are willing to pay $800 a month (including mortgage, house insurance, and property tax) and can put down 5% up front, we are looking at a $120,000 house.

What does all that mean? Well, since we can give that 5% any time now, we can start looking for a house up to $120,000!!!! This means that if we find a house in the Jenison, Hudsonville, or Zeeland area that we really love and is $120k or less we can be out of our apartment in August without renewing our apartment lease! We could be in our house this year.

We are meeting with a relator this Saturday to start working on "step 2." Can't wait to see what Saturday has to bring!

On a different note, I made a delicious Italian pasta salad and homemade Sangria for my families Memorial Day cookout. The links are added. I forgot to take a picture of the Sangria but it was very pretty with the fresh fruit floating around in my glass, spouted pitcher! I highly recommend both recipes!
